The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) has issued Request for Quotation RFQ 201990 for the supply, delivery, and installation of a carport at its Secunda facilities. This infrastructure upgrade aims to provide secure vehicle shelter at the Mpumalanga-based testing center.
Scope of Works and Site Details
The project entails the complete supply, delivery, and installation of a steel carport structure at the SABS Secunda site. Key work elements include installing gutters, painting the structure and IBR sheets in dark grey, and supplying all required materials such as cement and sand. Bidders are responsible for taking measurements on-site and for the removal and disposal of all construction waste upon project completion . A signed letter confirming a minimum 12-month workmanship warranty is also required, along with valid proof of Public Liability Insurance.
Mandatory Compliance and Evaluation
Bidders must meet strict administrative criteria. Mandatory returnables include:
- Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration report
- Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
- Completed SBD 4 and SBD 6.1 forms
- Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement Only bidders achieving a minimum functionality threshold of 75% will proceed to the 80/20 preference points assessment.

Attendance at the mandatory site clarification meeting is strictly required.
