The Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA) invites women entrepreneurs across South Africa to apply for Imbali For Her, a flagship national programme designed to promote inclusive economic participation by providing integrated financial and non-financial support. This initiative directly responds to the challenges women face in starting and growing sustainable businesses.
Who Can Apply?
Women entrepreneurs across all sectors and stages of business, including those in urban, township, and rural communities, as well as entrepreneurs with disabilities, are encouraged to apply. The programme caters to everyone from startups to established small businesses operating within the Republic of South Africa.
Key Requirements for Applicants
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- 51% black female-owned
- South African citizen
- Registered, tax-compliant business
- Formally registered women-owned enterprise
What Funding Support Is Offered?
Successful applicants can access up to R5 million in funding support. The programme uses a blended finance model (loans and grants), with the funding amount and structure determined by the enterprise’s current stage and a thorough viability assessment.

How to Apply
Applicants must complete the online application form, providing:
- Personal details (name, email, mobile, SA ID number)
- Business details (name, type, CIPC registration number, industry, description)
- Business address (physical address, city, province, postal code)
- Funding amount requested (up to R5,000,000) and a reason for funding

- SA ID Document (REQUIRED)
- Proof of Address (REQUIRED)
- Bank Statement (3 months) (REQUIRED)
- CIPC Registration Certificate (OPTIONAL)
- Business Plan (OPTIONAL)
