The South African Post Office Limited (SAPO) invites suitably qualified service providers to submit quotations for the repairs of roof, electrical and ceiling damages at the West Bank Post Office in KuGompo City, Eastern Cape.
SAPO Seeks Contractor for West Bank Post Office Repairs
The West Bank Post Office building has been severely impacted, with the roof and related electrical infrastructure requiring urgent repairs. The objective is to appoint a service provider to conduct an assessment and provide detailed office repairs in accordance with national building regulations.
Scope of Work and Repair Requirements
The successful contractor will be responsible for:
- Repairing asbestos roof sheeting and replacing with asbestos-free fibre cement sheets
- Repairing all electrical infrastructure including distribution boards, cabling and fittings
- Issuing an electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC)
- Ensuring all work complies with SABS 0142 standards
- Providing a qualified electrician for all electrical work
Mandatory Requirements for Bidders
Bidders must submit the following mandatory documents:
- Fully completed Pricing Schedule/BOQ
- Valid CIDB certificate for minimum grade 1GB and 1EB (active status with CRS number)
- Completed and signed SBD 1 and SBD 4 forms
- Completed Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
- Completed Certificate of Acquaintance with Bid Requirements
- Latest CSD Report or MAAA number
- Letter of Good Standing from COIDA
- Valid B-BBEE Certificate or Sworn Affidavit
- Completed Annexure BC confirming compliance with specifications
Price and Preference Point Evaluation
The 80/20 preference point system will apply, with 80 points allocated for price and 20 points for specific goals. Preference points will be awarded for at least 51% Black ownership (10 points), at least 51% youth ownership (5 points), at least 51% women ownership (3 points) and at least 1% ownership by disabled persons (2 points).
Compulsory Site Briefing Details
A compulsory briefing session will be held on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 at 10:00 at the West Bank Post Office, 10 Bank Street, West Bank Village, KuGompo City, Eastern Cape, 5201. Attendance is mandatory for all bidders.

Submit your completed quotation via email to SAPORFQ@postoffice.co.za before 29 September 2026 at 11:00. Late submissions will not be considered. The quotation must remain valid for 120 days from the closing date.
