Iziko Museums of South Africa invites service providers to submit quotations for the supply, delivery and assembly of library book trolleys, book ends and shelving for its Cape Town museums. The RFQ closes on 25 September 2026 at 11:00.
Iziko Museums Seeks Library Shelving Supplier
Iziko Museums is a Schedule 3A public entity and non-profit organisation bringing together 11 national museums and a Social History Centre in the Western Cape. The organisation requires library furniture to support its research and archive facilities at the Iziko South African Museum and the Iziko South African National Gallery Annexe.
Scope of Work and Product Specifications
The successful bidder will supply, deliver and assemble:
- 2 x heavy-gauge powder coated steel book trolleys with 3 shelves, 4 heavy-duty caster wheels with brake mechanisms
- 100 x steel book ends approximately 22cm (h) x 15cm (w) x 19.5cm (length)
- 100 x steel book ends approximately 17cm (h) x 12.5cm (w) x 15cm (length)
- 3 x double-sided library shelves with dividers, approximately 2m high, 7 bays per row, steel construction with powder coated finish
- 1 x extra deep single-sided library shelf, 7 metres long with full backing
Mandatory Requirements for Bidders
Bidders must submit the following documents:
- Central Supplier Database (CSD) report with supplier number and Tax Status Verification PIN
- Detailed pricing structure on company letterhead with full cost breakdown including VAT
- Valid B-BBEE Certificate or Sworn Affidavit
- Signed Request for Quotation document
- Valid Tax Certificate or Tax PIN
- Completed SBD 4 and SBD 6.1 forms
Price and Preference Point Evaluation
The 80/20 preference point system will apply, with 80 points allocated for price and 20 points for specific goals. Preference points will be awarded for Historically Disadvantaged Individuals (HDI) based on B-BBEE certificate, company registration, identification documentation and CSD report.
Delivery Locations and Requirements
Shelving must be delivered and installed at the NH Library, Iziko South African Museum, 25 Queen Victoria Street, Cape Town. Trolleys and book ends must be delivered to the Iziko South African National Gallery Annexe, 1 Government Avenue, Gardens, Cape Town.
