South Cape TVET College has issued Request for Quotation RFQ BB 36/2026 for the appointment of a service provider to supply and install electrical geysers at the Hessequa Campus in Riversdale, Western Cape. This targeted procurement seeks qualified contractors to upgrade the institution’s hot water infrastructure.
Project Overview and Scope of Works
The successful bidder will be responsible for the complete replacement of existing hot water systems . The scope includes:
- Removal of four existing 450L boilers and making good the affected areas
- Supply and installation of four 450L electrical geysers (Kwikot or equivalent approved brand)
- Complete electrical connection to the 3-phase supply, including all necessary thermostats, conduits, and pipework
- Installation of all required fittings, including vacuum breakers, pressure valves, non-return valves, and copper piping
- Testing and commissioning of the system, including issue of Certificates of Compliance (COC)
All installations must be undertaken by competent plumbers and electricians, complying with relevant South African standards and safety regulations.
Mandatory Compliance and Requirements
Bidders must hold a valid Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) grading of 1SO or higher. Applicants must also submit proof of company registration (CIPC), a valid B-BBEE certificate, a recent municipal account or lease agreement, a valid Tax Compliance Status PIN, and proof of proven experience in geyser installation.
Compulsory Briefing Session
Attendance at the pre-bid clarification meeting is strictly mandatory. Bidders who fail to attend and sign the register will be summarily disqualified.

Mandatory Documents and Evaluation Criteria

- Copy of valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN
- Latest municipal account or valid lease agreement
- CIPC company registration documents listing all members with percentages
- Copies of share certificates (for companies)
- Shareholding breakdown per race and gender
- Declaration of Interest (SBD 4)
- B-BBEE rating certificate from a SANAS accredited verification agency
- Valid CIDB grading certificate (1SO or higher)
- Proof of proven experience in geyser installation
The evaluation will apply the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals (including location-based preferences for Garden Route and Western Cape areas).
Strict Submission Protocols
Sealed bid documents must be deposited in the official bid box at the South Cape TVET College Central Office Building, 125 Mitchell Street, George, or submitted via email to scm@sccollege.co.za. Late, incomplete, or non-compliant submissions will not be accepted.
