    DWS Seeks Safety Items for Ntshingwayo Dam

    The Department of Water and Sanitation has issued Request for Quotation FE-023 for the supply and delivery of essential health and safety items to the Ntshingwayo Dam construction projects near Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal. This targeted procurement aims to ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety standards for the Construction East division.

    Scope of Works and Specifications

    The successful bidder will be required to supply the following items to the Ntshingwayo Dam projects:

    • Grey fish hand gloves (300 units)
    • Wheelie green bins (3 units)
    • Goggles clear indirect vent (80 units)
    • Nikki hard hat white (2 units)
    • Hard hat SABS approved green (15 units)
    • FFP1 Dust masks (40 boxes, 20 per box)
    • DH102-Dromex Midi masks double half masks (10 units)
    • DROMEX Twin UNIF ABEK1 Gas filters per set (10 units)

    All items must meet the required safety standards and specifications as detailed in the tender documentation.

    Submission Requirements and Mandatory Documents

    Bidders must submit a fully completed and signed SBD 1 form along with their quotation. The following documents are required:

    • Completed Invitation to Bid (SBD 1)
    • Declaration of Interest (SBD 4)
    • Preference Points Claim Form (SBD 6.1) in terms of PPR 2022
    • Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN or CSD registration number
    • B-BBEE verification certificate or sworn affidavit (for EMEs and QSEs)

    Evaluation Criteria and Preference Points

    The RFQ will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points allocated for price and 20 points for specific goals. Bidders must ensure they submit the required B-BBEE documentation to qualify for preference points.

    Strict Electronic Submission Protocols

    In alignment with the Department’s procurement policies, all quotations and completed attached documents must be submitted exclusively via email. Bidders must email their complete proposals to msibii@dws.gov.za and molefea@dws.gov.za. Hard copies, faxed, or late submissions will not be considered under any circumstances.
