    Johannesburg Water seeks spill kit suppliers for Midrand facility

    Johannesburg Water has issued Request for Quotation RFQJW078NS26 for the supply and delivery of spill kits to its Midrand facility. This procurement opportunity targets qualified suppliers capable of delivering environmental safety solutions that support municipal operational compliance and emergency response readiness in Gauteng.

    Product Specifications and Requirements

    Bidders must supply spill kits containing the following mandatory items:

    • 2 x 240L Wheelie bins – rugged and mobile for fast deployment
    • 1 x Polyethylene Shovel – non-sparking for safe oil spill cleanup
    • 1 x Dustpan and Brush Set – for smaller spills and residue
    • 1 x Absorbent Scatter (10kg) – covers uneven surfaces effectively
    • 2 x Dromex FFP2 Dust Masks – protect respiratory system during cleanup
    • 1 x Industrial Hard Broom (300mm) – heavy duty sweeping of absorbents
    • 1 x Absorbent Boom (2m x 150mm) – contain large spills
    • 5 x Insulok Cable Ties (200mm x 4.6mm) – reliable bag closure

    All items must meet manufacturer specifications and SABS quality standards.

    Submission Guidelines and Format

    Submissions must be made exclusively via the National Treasury e-Tender Portal. Bidders should:

    1. Log in using CSD credentials at https://www.etenders.gov.za/
    2. Search by RFQ reference number RFQJW078NS26
    3. Attach all compulsory documents as per the submission checklist
    4. Confirm and submit before the closing deadline

    Quotations must be submitted in PDF format only; MS Word, Excel, or image files will not be accepted.

    Pricing and Evaluation Criteria

    Quotations will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system:

    • 80 points allocated for price competitiveness
    • 20 points allocated for specific goals, including SMME status and 51% or more black ownership for EME/QSE entities
    • Total quotation must be inclusive of all applicable taxes and delivery costs to 6 Dale Road, Glen Austin, Midrand, Johannesburg, 2107

    Mandatory Documentation

    To avoid disqualification, bidders must submit:

    • Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN or CSD registration proof
    • B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit for EME/QSE entities
    • Company registration documents and director ID copies
    • Proof of municipal account or valid lease agreement not older than three months
    • Completed SBD forms as specified in the tender document
    • Manufacturer datasheets attached to quotation
