The Air Traffic and Navigation Services Company Limited (ATNS) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number ATNS/RFQ/01/2026/03/Carport Installation_FARB for the fabrication and erection of four (4) carports at Richards Bay Airport in KwaZulu-Natal. The project supports infrastructure enhancement for staff and operational vehicles at the airport’s control tower precinct. Submissions must be emailed by 13:00 on Friday, 13 February 2026, to the designated ATNS procurement mailbox.
A non-compulsory site inspection will be held on 6 February 2026 at 10:30 at the Richards Bay Airport Control Tower.
Project Scope: Structural Carport Installation
The successful contractor will deliver:
- Fabrication and installation of four (4) metal/aluminium carports, each measuring 5.25m x 2.5m (including 25cm overhang)
- Full structural assembly, including roofing, side cladding (1.5m length on both ends), priming, and painting
- Use of durable, weather-resistant materials compliant with South African construction standards
- Off-loading and on-site installation at the designated location near the control tower
All work must be completed within 7 working days of receiving an official order.
Mandatory Requirements and Documentation
Bidders must submit:
- Valid registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- SARS Tax Compliance PIN or clearance certificate
- B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit (Level 1–8 or EME/QSE)
- Completed Standard Bidding Documents: SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim)
- Detailed technical methodology and proof of experience in similar steel/metal structure projects
Joint ventures must ensure all partners meet these requirements.
Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System
Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:
- 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
- 20 points: Specific Goals, including Black, women, youth, disability, and military veteran ownership
Only complete, responsive, and compliant submissions will be evaluated.
