    uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) has issued an open Request for Bid (2025/009(B)) for the provision of comprehensive cleaning services. This strategic five-year contract aims to maintain optimal hygiene, safety, and sanitary conditions at the Durban Heights Waterworks and the UUW Durban Heights Training Centre.

    Scope of Services

    The appointed service provider will be responsible for routine and deep cleaning across designated operational facilities. Key deliverables include:

    • Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of offices, passages, and resource rooms.
    • Sanitation of ablution facilities, smoking areas, and parking zones.
    • Supply of all necessary cleaning materials, equipment, and consumables.
    • Strict adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations.

    Compulsory Briefing Session

    Attendance at the site inspection and clarification meeting is strictly mandatory. Bidders who fail to attend and sign the official register will be automatically disqualified from the evaluation process.

    Submission and Evaluation Requirements

    Bids will undergo a rigorous three-stage evaluation process, including administrative compliance, functionality (a minimum threshold of 70 points is required), and the applicable preference point system. Completed physical bid documents must be deposited in the designated tender box at the UUW Head Office, 310 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg, before the strict closing deadline. Late, emailed, or faxed submissions will not be accepted.
