uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) has published an open tender (2026/090) inviting qualified suppliers to provide toners and cartridges for all its sites for a period of five years, ensuring uninterrupted business operations and efficient office printing services .
Tender Overview and Key Dates
This Request for Bid, published on 21 August 2026, seeks a reliable supplier to establish a 60-month contract for the supply and delivery of toners and cartridges. Bids must be submitted by 01 October 2026 at 12:00. A compulsory briefing session will be held on 11 September 2026 at 10:00 at the uMngeni-uThukela Water Head Office, 310 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg. Scope of Work and Requirements
The successful bidder shall supply original manufacturer or manufacturer-approved toners and cartridges, compatible with UUW’s installed HP printer fleet, across three store locations: Pineside Store (Durban), Mkhondeni Store (Pietermaritzburg), and Richards Bay Store . All consumables must be new, unused, free from defects, and fully compatible with the relevant printer models. The contract is non-exclusive, and quantities are estimated; UUW does not guarantee minimum volumes, with orders placed on an as-and-when-required basis.
Compliance and Quality Standards
All toners and cartridges must meet specific technical requirements, including compliance with ISO/IEC 19752 (Mono) or ISO/IEC 19798 (Colour) standards, and must be delivered in original, sealed, and branded OEM (HP) packaging with security holographic seals . Delivery must be completed within ten (10) calendar working days from the date of receipt of an official order.
Mandatory Requirements
Bidders must submit a comprehensive compliance package including:
- SBD4 – Bidders Disclosure (complete and sign)
- Contract Participation Goals Declaration (minimum 35% CPG, including 25% from UUW’s area of operation and 10% local participation)
- Assurance of Supply (confirmation letter from the manufacturer)
- Attendance of Compulsory Briefing Session (certificate to be completed at the session)
- Valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN and CSD registration
- Valid COID certificate
- Registration with the Company and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC)

Contract Participation Goals
Tenderers are required to achieve at least 35% Contract Participation Goals (CPG), including a minimum 25% from enterprises within uMgeni-uThukela Water’s area of operation and 10% for local participation.
