Air Traffic and Navigation Services SOC Limited (ATNS) has re-advertised a Request for Quotation (ATNS/FALE/RFQ22/2025/26_CATERING) for the supply and delivery of ad hoc catering services. This strategic 36-month, rate-based contract targets suitably experienced hospitality providers to support operational requirements across four major Air Traffic Service Units (ATSUs) in KwaZulu-Natal.
Scope of Services and Airports
The appointed service provider will deliver on-demand catering for meetings, events, and corporate functions. The contract covers four critical aviation nodes:
- King Shaka International Airport (FALE)
- Virginia Airport (FAVG)
- Pietermaritzburg Airport (FAPM)
- Richards Bay Airport (FARB)
Contract Duration and Rate-Based Model
Operating on an as-and-when-required basis, this 36-month agreement offers flexibility and sustained partnership opportunities. Bidders must note that ATNS reserves the right to appoint more than one service provider to ensure uninterrupted service delivery across all designated airports.
Dietary Requirements and Experience
Providers must demonstrate extensive experience in corporate catering. Crucially, the scope mandates the ability to supply special dietary requirements, including Halaal, Kosher, Vegetarian, and Vegan options, ensuring inclusivity for all aviation personnel and stakeholders.
Mandatory Submission Requirements
Bidders must comply with all mandatory requirements to avoid disqualification:
- Health Certificate: A valid Certificate of Acceptability from the local municipality
- Public Liability Insurance: Valid coverage documentation
- Client Reference Letters: A minimum of three contactable reference letters from completed catering services within the past seven years, on official client letterhead
- Occupational Certificate: Chef (NQF Level 5): A certified copy of a SAQA-accredited chef qualification, not older than three months
- COIDA Compliance: A valid Letter of Good Standing from the Department of Employment and Labour or a Registered Mutual Association policy
- Locality Footprint: Proof of presence in the bid area, such as a municipal bill or lease agreement, for the specific airport being bid for

- Three client reference letters (completed within past 7 years)
- Occupational Certificate: Chef (NQF Level 5) – certified copy
- Letter of Good Standing (COIDA) or Registered Mutual Association policy
- Proof of Locality Footprint for the station bidding for
- CSD Registration Report or proof of application
