The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued Request for Bid SAWS-444b/25 for the appointment of a qualified service provider to replace perimeter fencing at its Waterkloof facility in Pretoria. This open-tender opportunity targets registered contractors with relevant experience in security fencing installations within the Gauteng province.
Compulsory Site Briefing Session
All interested bidders must attend a compulsory briefing session on Tuesday, 24 March 2026 at 10:00. The session will take place at the Waterkloof Heights vacant land, located at the end of Matroosberg Road. GPS coordinates: 25°47’58.4″S 28°15’17.7″E. Attendance is mandatory for bid consideration.
Scope of Work Requirements
The successful contractor will be responsible for:
- Removal of existing palisade fencing
- Supply and installation of 2800mm high black welded mesh fencing
- Installation of concertina razor wire in V-shape on top and bottom
- Setting posts with concrete foundations (600mm deep)
- Providing a 2-year warranty on all work
Submission Guidelines and Deadlines
All bid proposals must be submitted electronically via the National Treasury’s e-Tender Portal. The closing date is Friday, 10 April 2026, at 11:00. Late submissions will not be considered.
Bidders must submit:
- CIDB grading of 5SQ or higher
- Valid COIDA certificate
- Comprehensive Health and Safety Plan with SACPCMP-accredited officer
- Completed SBD forms and Annexures
- Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
- SARS Tax Compliance status
