    Eskom 5-Year Pest Control Tender Hendrina Station

    Eskom has issued an open Request for Bid under reference number E2541GXMPHEN for the provision of comprehensive pest control services at Hendrina Power Station in Mpumalanga on an “as and when required” basis over a five-year period. The contract covers treatment for rodents, insects, birds, and other pests across critical operational, administrative, and residential zones of the power station. Submissions must be completed exclusively via the Eskom e-Tendering portal by 10:00 on Friday, 6 March 2026.

    A non-compulsory virtual briefing session will be held on 17 February 2026 at 10:00 via Microsoft Teams.

    Scope of Work: Integrated Pest Management for Critical Infrastructure

    The successful service provider will deliver:

    • Routine and emergency pest control across boiler houses, turbine halls, coal yards, workshops, offices, and staff housing
    • Use of SANS-compliant, environmentally safe chemicals and integrated pest management (IPM) techniques
    • Installation and maintenance of rodent bait stations, fly traps, and bird deterrent systems
    • Monthly reporting, site inspections, and compliance with Eskom’s Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety protocols
    • Immediate response to infestation alerts within agreed service-level timeframes

    All personnel must hold valid PCO licenses under the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act (Act 36 of 1947).

    Mandatory Requirements and Accreditation

    Bidders must submit:

    • Valid registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
    • SARS Tax Compliance PIN or clearance certificate
    • B-BBEE Certificate or sworn affidavit (Level 1–8 or EME/QSE)
    • Valid PCO license for both commercial and domestic pest control
    • Completed Standard Bidding Documents: SBD 1, SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest), and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim)
    • Method Statement demonstrating technical approach, safety protocols, and environmental compliance

    All documents must be uploaded in PDF format via the Eskom e-Tendering system—no hard copies, emails, or faxes will be accepted.

    Evaluation Criteria: Functionality and 80/20 Preference System

    Bids will undergo a two-stage evaluation:

    1. Functionality Assessment: Based on technical methodology, past performance, resource capacity, and environmental compliance (minimum 70 points required to proceed)
    2. 80/20 Preferential Procurement Scoring:
      • 80 points: Price (lowest compliant = 80; others scored proportionally)
      • 20 points: Specific Goals, including Black, women, youth, disability ownership, and local presence in Mpumalanga

    Only responsive, compliant, and qualified bidders will be considered.
