The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number RFQ396 AM (25/26) for the supply and delivery of catering services to 100 officials attending a workshop in Kagiso, Gauteng, on 17 February 2026. The event requires professional, hygienic, and timely meal service in a formal government setting. Submissions must be emailed by 11:00 on Friday, 13 February 2026.
This is a short-term, high-visibility opportunity for experienced caterers with a track record in public sector events.
Overview of the Event and Service Requirements
The successful service provider will deliver a full catering package on a single day, including:
- Morning tea and coffee with scones and sandwiches
- Bottled water (SANBWA-compliant, 500ml)
- Warm lunch featuring two starches, two meat options, vegetables, salad, and soft drinks
- Full tableware: serviettes, cutlery, plates, and serving utensils
All food must be freshly prepared, transported in covered vehicles (no open-back bakkies), and served by staff wearing uniforms and appropriate PPE.
Mandatory Submission Requirements
To be considered, quotations must include:
- A formal quote on company letterhead with VAT-inclusive pricing
- Valid CSD (MAAA) registration number
- Banking details and proof of business registration
- Completed Standard Bidding Documents: SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim)
- Confirmation that all staff and vehicles comply with health and safety standards
Quotations must be submitted exclusively via email—no hard copies or faxes will be accepted.
Evaluation Criteria: 80/20 Preferential Procurement System
Quotations will be scored using the 80/20 system:
- 80 points: Price (lowest compliant quote = 80; others scored proportionally)
- 20 points: Specific Goals, awarded only to businesses with more than 50% ownership by Black people, women, or persons with disabilities
Joint ventures must provide proof of combined ownership meeting this threshold. Fraudulent claims will result in disqualification.
