The Ekurhuleni Housing Company (EHC) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference EHC/DMA/12/2025 for the Appointment of a Contractor to Carry Out Partitioning and Internal Alterations at its Head Office in Chris Hani Village, Germiston. This two-month project supports EHC’s operational efficiency and workspace optimisation as it continues to deliver affordable rental housing across the metro. Tender Overview and Project Background
As a municipal entity established under the City of Ekurhuleni, EHC manages thousands of affordable rental units for low- and moderate-income households. Its head office at Corner Victoria and Linton Streets, Chris Hani Village, Germiston, 1400, requires internal reconfiguration to improve workflow, privacy, and functionality. This RFQ seeks a qualified contractor to execute precise, high-quality partitioning works with minimal disruption to daily operations.
Scope of Work: Office Partitioning and Alterations
The appointed contractor will be responsible for:
- Installation of demountable partition walls with acoustic insulation
- Ceiling modifications and integration with existing lighting and HVAC systems
- Electrical re-routing for power and data points in new layouts
- Finishing works, including painting, skirting, and floor adjustments
- Daily site cleanup and compliance with occupational health and safety protocols
All work must comply with SANS 10400 and relevant building regulations. A detailed Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and drawings are provided in the tender annexures.
Mandatory Qualifications and Documentation
To be considered responsive, bidders must submit:
- Valid CIDB registration with appropriate grading
- SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN
- Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration and full report
- Completed MBD 1–9 forms, including Declarations of Interest and Past SCM Practices
- Three verifiable references for similar office fit-out projects
- Proof of address (utility bill or lease agreement for businesses based in Gauteng)
Failure to submit any mandatory document will result in disqualification.
Compulsory Site Briefing and Submission Protocol
A compulsory site briefing will be held at the EHC Head Office, Corner Victoria and Linton Streets, Chris Hani Village, Germiston, 1400. Attendance is mandatory—bidders must sign the Submission Register upon arrival. Non-attendance or failure to sign the register will lead to disqualification.
Completed bids must be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with “EHC/DMA/12/2025 – Office Partitioning”, and placed in the red tender box at the EHC reception by the closing deadline. Late, emailed, faxed, or couriered submissions will not be accepted.
Evaluation Criteria and Contract Duration
Bids will be evaluated under the 80/20 Preferential Procurement System:
- 80 points for price competitiveness
- 20 points for specific empowerment goals (Black, women, youth, disability ownership)
The contract will run for two (2) months from the date of award. EHC reserves the right to accept part or all of any bid or to reject all submissions.
