Namakwa District Municipality invites qualified IT suppliers to submit formal quotations for the supply and delivery of thirteen (13) business-grade laptops. Tender reference NOTICE NO: 16/2026 closes on 30 March 2026 at 10:00. Sealed quotations clearly marked with the tender number must be deposited in the official bid box at Van Riebeeck Street, Springbok, 8240.
Laptop Specifications and Quantities
The procurement comprises two laptop configurations:
- 8 units: Intel Core i5, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, 15.6″ FHD display, Windows 11 Pro, Microsoft Office Home & Business 2024, 1-year warranty, plus branded backpacks
- 5 units: Intel Core i7, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB SSD, 15.6″ FHD display, Windows 11 Pro, Microsoft Office Home & Business 2024, 1-year warranty, plus branded backpacks
All devices must include dual speakers, 720p webcam, USB-C/USB-A/HDMI ports, LAN/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity, and deliver minimum 4-hour battery life.
Eligibility and Mandatory Requirements
Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and submit a valid SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN. Additional mandatory submissions include:
- Certified Company Registration Certificate
- Municipal rates clearance (not exceeding three months arrears) or sworn affidavit
- Valid B-BBEE verification certificate or sworn affidavit for preference points
- Completed MBD forms 1, 3.1, 4, 6.1, 7.1, 8 and 9
Evaluation and Preference Points System
Quotations will be adjudicated using the 80/20 Preferential Procurement System. Price accounts for 80 points, while 20 points are allocated to specific goals:
- Black ownership: 5 points
- Women ownership: 5 points
- Youth ownership: 3 points
- Disabled ownership: 2 points
- Locality within Namakwa District: 3 points
- Locality within Northern Cape: 2 points
