    The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) invites qualified service providers to submit quotations for the repair and refurbishment of existing carpentry and marble countertops at its offices in Centurion. This Request for Quotation (RFQ/CMS/FAC/03092026) offers an opportunity for contractors with expertise in marble restoration and carpentry works.

    Scope of Work

    • Inspect existing marble countertops and supporting carpentry structures
    • Repair chips, cracks, scratches, stains, and other visible surface defects
    • Re-polish and restore marble surfaces to improve appearance
    • Re-seal joints and exposed edges where required
    • Secure and stabilise loose sections of countertops
    • Repair damaged or deteriorated supporting carpentry components
    • Repair damaged sections of the First Floor high bar chairs tabletop
    • Restore and refinish tabletops to achieve a neat and uniform appearance
    • Repair or reinforce unstable or damaged supporting frameworks
    • Ensure tabletops are secure, level, and fit for purpose

    Mandatory Requirements

    • Minimum one signed reference letter or completion letter demonstrating experience in marble or natural stone countertop repair, refurbishment, restoration, or maintenance
    • CIDB registration at Level 1 or higher in General Building (GB) work class
    • Compulsory site inspection attendance with signed attendance register
    • Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN
    • Proof of registration on Central Supplier Database (CSD)
    • Completed SBD 1, SBD 4, and SBD 6.1 forms
    • Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit

    Evaluation Criteria

    The evaluation process consists of two phases. Phase 1 assesses mandatory evaluation criteria where bidders must demonstrate eligibility and prior experience. Phase 2 evaluates price and specific goals using the 80/20 preference point system where 80 points are allocated for price and 20 points for specific goals.

    • Historically Disadvantaged Individuals: 5 points
    • Size of the Company (EME, QSE, Generic): 3 points
    • Black Women-Owned Enterprise: 5 points
    • Ownership by People with Disabilities: 3 points
    • Ownership by Youth (under 35 years): 4 points

    Submission Details

    Quotations must be submitted via email to RFQCS@medicalschemcs.co.za. All submissions must be properly indexed and in logical sequence. Documents submitted via cloud solutions such as WeTransfer, Google Drive, or Dropbox will not be considered. Late submissions will not be accepted.
