Scope of Works and Deliverables
The successful bidder will supply a wide range of protective clothing items for municipal employees, including:
- Flame-retardant and acid-resistant overalls and dust coats
- Safety boots (steel toe and non-steel toe for electricians)
- Gumboots, rain suits, and rain coats
- Winter jackets, t-shirts, and wool hats
- Safety helmets, goggles, and full-body harnesses
- Protective gloves (cleaning, electrical, and leather)
- Workwear socks and flame-retardant socks
All items must be SABS approved and comply with the specified technical requirements.
Mandatory Requirements and Submission Documents
Bidders must submit the following documents:
- Proof of payment for the bid document
- Detailed CSD registration report
- Valid company registration document
- SARS PIN or Tax Clearance Certificate
- Certified B-BBEE Certificate or Sworn Affidavit
- Current municipal account or lease agreement (not older than 3 months)
- Certified copies of ID documents of directors and owners
- SABS Approved Certificate for protective clothing

Evaluation Criteria: Price and Specific Goals
The bid will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals . Points are allocated for Historically Disadvantaged Individuals (HDI) with 100% ownership receiving the full 20 points . Tenderers must be registered on the Central Supplier Database and the municipal supplier database .
Strict Submission Protocols
Sealed bid documents must be clearly marked with the tender number and description. They must be deposited in the official tender box located at the ground floor of the Abaqulusi Local Municipality, Corner of High and Mark Street, Vryheid, 3100. Late bids will not be accepted under any circumstances.
