The George Municipality has issued an open tender (GMT058/25-26) for the supply and delivery of uniforms, as and when required, for a period of three years from the date of appointment until 30 June 2029. This strategic procurement targets capable apparel manufacturers and distributors to support municipal staff across the Western Cape.
Scope of Works and Delivery Mandate
The tender covers a wide range of uniform items with detailed specifications for three departments: Fire Department, Traffic Department, and Law Enforcement . Examples of required items include:
- Fire Department: Ceremonial dress uniforms, operational summer/winter shirts, all-weather parkas, and safety shoes .
- Traffic Department: Formal jackets, combat trousers, high-visibility reflective vests, and waterproof rain jackets.
- Law Enforcement: Combat trousers, Magnum shirts, V-neck pullovers, and rain suits.
Mandatory Documents and Conditions
To be considered, bidders must submit the following:
- A valid original or certified copy of a B-BBEE certificate.
- A Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN.
- Proof of address for locality points (e.g., municipal account, rental/lease agreement).
- A completed Certificate for Municipal Services confirming no overdue municipal accounts .
Penalties of 5% of the order value per day will be charged for late delivery or incorrect items .
Strict Physical Submission Protocols
Sealed bid documents, clearly marked with the tender number, must be deposited in the official tender box. Emailed, faxed, or posted tenders will not be accepted under any circumstances.
