The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) has issued a Request for Quotation for the supply, delivery, and installation of office furniture at its Institute for Soil, Climate and Water in Pretoria. This is a time-sensitive opportunity for furniture suppliers with a strong track record.

The RFQ, numbered ISC01REQ003521, was published on 12 July 2026, with quotations closing on 22 July 2026 at 11:00 . Scope of Work
The appointed supplier will supply, deliver, and assemble the following office furniture at the ARC Arcadia premises:
- 48 Office desks (120cm × 57.5cm × 75cm) with ¾ lockable drawers, Brown or American Walnut colour
- 84 Desk partitioning panels (freestanding, 1200mm overall height, sitting 450mm above the desk)
- 48 Mesh office chairs (ergonomic or equivalent) with headrest and lumbar support
The furniture will be arranged in clusters of eight desks, with each cluster requiring 14 partitioning panels. All furniture must be brand new, with no second-hand items accepted.
Special Conditions
- Delivery: Within 4 weeks (1 month) after appointment
- Lifespan: Eight to 12 years (fair wear and tear considered)
- Warranty: Five-year warranty required
- Assembly: Furniture must be assembled on site
- After-sales support: Prompt response to queries and variations required
Mandatory Requirements (Failure leads to disqualification)
- 5-year warranty letter for all furniture
- Two reference letters from clients for similar services (manufacturing or supply of furniture) within five years, on client letterhead, signed, and contactable
- Company proposal describing high-quality, modern, ergonomic, and modular furniture suitable for an eight-hour workday

Evaluation Criteria
The 80/20 preference point system applies, with price scored out of 80 points and specific goals scored out of 20 points. Specific goals include ownership by HDIs, Women, Youth, Persons with Disabilities, B-BBEE status, and promotion of SMMEs.
