The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ 3822b/26) for the supply, delivery, and installation of aluminium doors at the Irene Weather Office in Centurion, Gauteng. This targeted infrastructure upgrade aims to enhance security and operational efficiency at the meteorological facility.
Scope of Works and Technical Specifications
The appointed service provider will remove existing wooden doors and frames, and supply, deliver, and install aluminium doors at various locations within the Irene Weather Office.
Items required:
- Item 1: Remove existing wooden doors and frame, supply, deliver, and install 1 x double aluminium door with aluminium door frame (estimated size: 2370(H) x 2550(W)).
- Item 2: Remove existing wooden doors and frame, supply, deliver, and install 1 x double aluminium door with aluminium door frame (estimated size: 1730(W) x 2400(H)).
- Item 3: Supply, deliver, and install 1 x double aluminium door on existing steel frame; paint existing steel frame to match aluminium doors (estimated size: 1610(W) x 2020(H), with top window 1610(W) x 300(H)).
- Item 4: Supply, deliver, and install 2 x single aluminium doors on existing steel frames; paint existing steel frames to match aluminium doors (estimated size: 2060(H) x 810(W) each).
Technical specifications: Doors must be equipped with handles and locking mechanisms. Colours must be natural, with clear or frosted laminated glass (6.38mm thick) as specified. Bidders must verify all measurements onsite before manufacturing and installation.
Compulsory Site Briefing Session
Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid site inspection is strictly enforced. Prospective bidders must attend in person to assess the existing structural conditions and accurately quantify the required materials. Bidders who fail to attend will be automatically disqualified.
