The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) invites qualified cleaning service providers to submit bids for the rendering of cleaning services at the Kagiso and Tsakane Magistrate Courts. This strategic 36-month contract (Tender JHB 26/01) ensures the maintenance of high hygiene standards across the Department of Justice’s Cluster 3 facilities in Gauteng.
Tender Overview
The appointed service provider will deliver comprehensive cleaning services for a period of 36 months. The scope requires the deployment of dedicated staff, including 15 cleaners and 2 supervisors, distributed across the Kagiso and Tsakane Magistrate Courts to maintain optimal facility conditions.
Tender Scope and Service Requirements
The appointed service provider will be responsible for comprehensive cleaning services from Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays. Key requirements include:
- Daily cleaning of floors, offices, toilets, courtrooms, and cells (courts must be cleaned before 9:00 AM)
- Weekly vacuuming of carpets, polishing of furniture, and cleaning of parking areas
- Monthly scrubbing of wood/vinyl floors and dusting of lights
- Quarterly window washing and floor stripping/sealing
- Bi-annual carpet shampooing
The contractor must provide all cleaning materials, equipment (including polisher machines, mop trolleys, vacuum cleaners), and consumables such as toilet paper, hand soap, disinfectants, and refuse bags.
Mandatory Functionality Criteria
Bidders must meet strict functionality thresholds to qualify for evaluation. The assessment allocates 35 points for human resources commitments and 35 points for proven experience in completing similar industrial or commercial cleaning projects valued between R1 million and R4.5 million or more.
Human Resources and Experience
Prospective tenderers must submit a signed commitment on company letterhead to provide the required 15 cleaners and 2 supervisors. An organogram detailing staff allocation per court is mandatory. Furthermore, bidders must provide official appointment letters and proof of completion for past cleaning projects to claim experience points.
Briefing Session and Document Collection
A non-compulsory pre-tender briefing session will be held on Thursday, 11 June 2026, at 11:00 at the 4th Floor Boardroom, Mineralia Building, 78 De Korte Street, Braamfontein.
