The National Research Foundation invites qualified electrical contractors to submit quotations for connecting an outbuilding container to the main building’s electricity distribution board. This Request for Quotation supports critical research infrastructure at the MRC/Wits-Agincourt Unit in rural Mpumalanga.
Scope of Work (Once‑off Contract)
- Supply: 100m of 10mm² Twin‑and‑Earth (T&E) cable (60A circuit breaker) + 100m of 20mm diameter steel electrical conduit
- Excavate trench: 300mm wide × 500mm deep × 100m long from main building to container
- Install conduit around building perimeter, route cable, connect to main distribution board and to circuit breaker in container
- Maintain voltage drop below 5% (submit calculation on completion)
- Backfill trench and mechanically compact soil
- Issue Electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC) upon completion
Delivery address: Same as briefing venue (MRC/Wits‑Agincourt Unit, Stand 1176, Agincourt).

- CIDB grading of 1 EB or higher is mandatory
- Scope includes safe, compliant electrical installation from container to main distribution board
- Valid registration with relevant electrical regulatory bodies required
