The National Research Foundation (NRF) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) under reference number NRF/CORP EM RFQ 95/2025-26 for the supply and installation of drywall partitions in its open-plan offices in Brummeria, Pretoria. The project supports the NRF’s modernisation of workspace design to enhance collaboration, flexibility, and service delivery. Only contractors with a valid CIDB grading of 1GB or higher may apply. Submissions must be completed online via the eTenders portal by 11:00 on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
A compulsory site briefing will be held at the NRF Brummeria offices—attendance is mandatory for all bidders.
Project Scope: Modern Drywall Partitions for Open-Plan Offices
The successful contractor will deliver a complete drywall solution, including:
- Supply and installation of 90mm-thick classic drywall partitions, up to 3,000mm high
- Use of 75mm metal studs mounted from floor to ceiling
- Integration with existing mechanical, electrical, and data services
- Surface finishing, alignment, and handover in accordance with specifications
- Compliance with SANS 10400, fire safety, and acoustic performance standards
Work must be executed with minimal disruption to ongoing operations in a live office environment.
Mandatory Eligibility and Documentation Requirements
Bidders must meet the following non-negotiable criteria:
- Valid CIDB registration at Grade 1GB or higher
- Active registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- SARS Tax Compliance PIN or clearance certificate
- COIDA Letter of Good Standing
- Three verifiable references for similar drywall partition projects completed in the past five years
- Proof of attendance at the compulsory site briefing
- Completed SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim) forms
Joint ventures must submit a notarised agreement and ensure all partners meet these requirements.
Evaluation Criteria: Go/No-Go Screening and 80/20 System
Quotations will undergo a two-stage evaluation:
- Go/No-Go Eligibility Check: Verification of CIDB grade, CSD status, briefing attendance, and reference validity
- 80/20 Preferential Procurement Scoring:
- 80 points: Price (lowest compliant = 80)
- 20 points: B-BBEE status level and specific goals (women, youth, disability ownership)
Only bidders who pass all eligibility checks will proceed to price evaluation.
