Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) based in Gauteng are invited to seize a transformative opportunity through the JSE SME Rise Capital Matching Roadshow, taking place on 28–29 November 2025 at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in Sandton. Running from 09:00 AM daily, this high-impact event connects investment-ready businesses with active capital providers, offering a direct pathway to scale and succeed.
Unlock Growth Funding at the JSE SME Capital Matching Roadshow
The JSE SME Rise Capital Matching Initiative is a strategic platform designed to bridge the gap between high-potential SMEs and investors actively seeking new opportunities. With a proven 62% success rate in 2023, the initiative—delivered in partnership with SEDFA and the Western Cape Government’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism—has already empowered numerous businesses to access the capital they need to grow.
Who Qualifies for the Capital Matching Initiative?
To participate, SMEs must be formally registered, have at least 12 months of operational history, and require funding of more than R50,000. Ideal candidates demonstrate a clear business model, financial viability (or strong potential), and a scalable growth strategy. Startups with robust traction are also encouraged to apply.
Two-Stage Journey to Investment Readiness
The initiative unfolds in two structured phases. In Stage 1, qualifying businesses join the Funding Readiness Programme, which launches in June 2025. This includes six comprehensive training modules—covering the funding landscape, market assessment, legal compliance, and more—delivered through pre-recorded and live sessions. Participants also receive pitch readiness coaching, templates, and one-on-one support to refine their investor presentations.
What to Expect at the Capital Matching Event
Stage 2 culminates in the Capital Matching Event in Sandton, where funding-ready SMEs are matched with a minimum of four aligned investors. Companies share pitch decks directly with decision-makers, engage in face-to-face meetings, and collaboratively determine next steps in their funding journey—all within a secure, professionally facilitated environment.
Required Documentation for SME Applicants
Applicants should prepare the following:
- Valid business registration documents
- Financial statements or credible projections
- A concise business plan or investor pitch deck
- Profiles of key owners or management team members
All submissions and engagements are handled through the JSE’s secure platform, adhering to strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.
Why This Initiative Delivers Real Results
Unlike generic funding portals, the JSE SME Rise initiative offers curated, high-quality matchmaking backed by institutional credibility. With hands-on preparation and direct access to vetted investors, participating SMEs significantly increase their chances of securing meaningful capital.
