Set to take place in Blouberg and Musina, this programme provides hands-on skills development across eight critical areas of modern farming. Applications are open now, with a deadline of 30 September 2025, giving unemployed youth, small-scale farmers, and rural communities a unique opportunity to gain nationally recognized NOF Level 5 qualifications and improve employability in South Africa’s growing agricultural sector.

South Africa faces ongoing challenges such as rural unemployment, limited access to formal training, and a skills gap in agriculture. The AgriSkills Short Skills Programme addresses these issues directly by providing skills aligned with real-world farming demands. The programme covers eight core modules, each blending theoretical instruction with practical application:
- Financial Management (3 Days) – Budgeting, cash flow management, seasonal planning, and funding access.
- Machine Operators (5 Days) – Safe operation of tractors, planters, and harvesters, including maintenance practices.
- Mechanics (10 Days) – Repair and maintenance of farm machinery to minimize downtime and boost productivity.
- Forklift Driving (5 Days) – Operation in warehouse and packhouse settings with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Marketing and Branding (5 Days) – Branding, pricing, packaging, and digital marketing to differentiate products.
- Food Safety (5 Days) – Compliance with HACCP, GlobalG.A.P., and local standards for safe handling and storage.
- Water Management and Irrigation (5 Days) – Efficient irrigation methods and soil-water management for climate-resilient farming.
- Health and Safety (3 Days) – Farm workplace safety, chemical handling, protective gear use, and OHS compliance.
