Sedfa Nelson Mandela Bay, a key economic development agency in the Eastern Cape, is offering a free, intensive four-day training programme designed to help small and medium enterprises (SMMEs) improve their operational efficiency and profitability.
The “Business Performance Improvement Modules” training will take place from 10 to 13 September 2025, at the Sedfa Nelson Mandela Bay Branch, located at 329 Cape Road, Newton Park. The sessions will run daily from 09:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
This hands-on workshop is specifically tailored for SMME owners and managers who are committed to growing their businesses by reducing waste, improving processes, and increasing overall productivity.
About the Training
This comprehensive programme is part of Sedfa’s broader mission to support and empower local entrepreneurs. It focuses on the practical application of waste management principles to identify inefficiencies, cut costs, and boost competitiveness.
Participants will gain valuable insights into how to:
- Understand the core concepts of waste management
- Define and identify different types of wastage within their operations
- Analyse the root causes and negative impacts of wastage
- Learn proven techniques to reduce or eliminate waste
- Measure waste and track improvements using real-world exercises
- Develop a practical action plan to increase efficiency and reduce costs
The training is ideal for business owners in sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, and automotive, but it is also highly applicable to other industries facing similar challenges.
Who Should Attend?
This opportunity is open to registered SMMEs operating in the following sectors:
- Agriculture and Agro-processing
- Manufacturing
- Automotive
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a registered business (CIPC)
- Have been operating for at least six months
- Provide financial statements (where applicable)
Seats are limited to 30 Micro Small Medium businesses, so early registration is essential.
