Iziko Museums of South Africa has issued a Request for Quotation (Iziko R&E / RFQ 22/06/2026) for the professional packing and transportation of artworks for two prestigious exhibitions: “Matereality” and “A Long Live: Steven Cohen.” This specialized procurement targets experienced fine art logistics companies capable of handling high-value cultural assets with museum-grade care.
Scope of Works and Exhibition Requirements
The appointed service provider will handle the complete logistics chain for both exhibitions. This includes professional packing, crating, transportation, and unpacking of delicate artworks. The scope encompasses two distinct transport lists: the Steven Cohen exhibition requiring specialized crate dimensions, and the Matereality exhibition featuring diverse artistic mediums.
Mandatory Compliance and Museum Standards
Bidders must demonstrate proven experience in fine art handling and transportation. All packing and transporting activities must strictly adhere to Iziko Museums’ professional standards as outlined in Annexure C. This includes climate-controlled vehicles, shock-absorbent crating materials, and trained personnel experienced in handling irreplaceable cultural heritage items.

Quotations and accompanying documentation must be emailed directly to the Supply Chain Management office and relevant curatorial staff. Physical submissions will not be accepted.
