Tender Overview and Strategic Scope
This comprehensive procurement covers the end-to-end supply of poultry production inputs. The successful service provider will be responsible for sourcing high-quality day-old chicks, specialized feed, veterinary medication, and hygiene chemicals, ensuring safe transport and offloading at designated beneficiary sites across the Eastern Cape in compliance with the Stock Theft Act and SAPA guidelines.
Mandatory Technical and Compliance Criteria
Bidders must demonstrate robust supply chain capabilities and adhere to strict industry standards. Mandatory requirements include:
- A signed agreement or confirmation letter with the primary supplier of the day-old chicks.
- A valid vaccination certificate for the farm of origin.
- A signed agreement with an approved poultry feed supplier.
- Strict adherence to the South African Poultry Association (SAPA) Code of Practice (2022).
Evaluation and Preference Points System
Proposals will be evaluated using the 80/20 preferential procurement system. Price accounts for 80 points, while 20 points are allocated to specific transformation goals. Preference points are awarded for enterprises that are at least 51% owned by black people or women, and for businesses located within the Eastern Cape province.
