The JB Marks Local Municipality invites qualified service providers to submit tenders for the provision of office furniture for its Ventersdorp region offices. This re-advertised opportunity, Bid 38/2025, follows an open-tender process under the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA), applying the 80/20 preference point system. A total of 80 points are allocated to price, while 20 points are reserved for specific goals.
Furniture Scope & SABS Requirements
The required furniture includes data track cluster desks, visitor chairs, boardroom tables, and public seating, all of which must be SABS approved. Substandard products will lead to contract cancellation. Delivery must be completed within 2–4 weeks from the order date. The municipality reserves the right to split the supply only where economy, efficiency, or reliability justifies it.
Evaluation Criteria: Functionality & Specific Goals
Functionality is a mandatory hurdle, with a maximum of 35 points awarded for a proven track record on similar projects. To qualify for further evaluation, bidders must score at least 25 points. Points are awarded as follows:
- 0–2 similar contracts: 10 points
- Up to 3 contracts: 20 points
- Up to 4 contracts: 30 points
- Proof of delivery method: 5 points
Mandatory Returnable Documents
Bidders must submit a hard copy and a USB copy of the completed tender document. Required documents include:
- Valid Tax Compliance Status (PIN or CSD number)
- CSD registration proof
- Company profile and registration documents (CK)
- Certified ID copies of directors
- Municipal account statements for the entity and each director
- Proof of previous similar projects with purchase orders and delivery notes
- Signed MBD forms (4, 6.1, 8, 9) and authority of signatory resolution
Submission & Validity Rules
The closing date is 26 June 2026 at 12:00. Bids must be placed in the tender box at Room 315, Third Floor, Dan Tloome Civic Centre, Potchefstroom. No faxed, emailed, or late bids will be accepted. Tenders remain valid for 120 days after closure.
