The Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA) has issued an open Request for Bid under reference GGDA/07/2025-26/VENUE EXHIBITION for the Appointment of a Service Provider to Deliver End-to-End Events Management for the 2026 Gauteng Investment Conference. This high-profile event, themed “Igniting the Investment Potential of Africa’s Economic Hub,” will showcase Gauteng as a premier investment destination to local and international stakeholders. Tender Overview and Strategic Economic Mandate
As the strategic arm of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, the GGDA is mandated to drive trade, investment, and infrastructure development in Africa’s economic heartland. The 2026 Investment Conference—a flagship event following the success of its predecessor—will convene investors, government officials, industry leaders, and development finance institutions to catalyse economic growth. The selected service provider will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless, world-class experience that reflects Gauteng’s global ambitions.
Comprehensive Scope of Event Management Services
The appointed provider will deliver integrated services across five core areas:
- Venue coordination for up to 1,000 delegates (550 physical attendees), including the Gala Dinner (250 pax) and Golf Day (150 pax)
- Exhibition management for Gauteng and 8 sponsors, featuring custom 3x3m branded stands
- Stage and set construction for main plenary, breakaway rooms, VIP lounges, and operational zones
- Full audio-visual and technical support, including hybrid streaming, interpretation booths, and digital signage
- End-to-end event execution, including guest relations, logistics, delegate registration, and post-event reporting
The primary venue is Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch, with the Gala Dinner and Golf Day at separate premium locations to be confirmed in coordination with the GGDA.
Venue, Technical, and Branding Deliverables
Key deliverables include:
- Procurement and setup of interactive digital screens, lighting, and sound systems
- Design and production of 1,000 delegate gift packs and 250 VIP gifts (three branded options each)
- Development of a custom conference engagement app
- Squeeze-back TV advertisements on GGDA channels over a 6-week campaign
- Business-to-Business meeting rooms, Ministerial holding areas, and Operations Command Centre
All branding must align with GGDA’s visual identity, and the service provider must demonstrate experience managing similar high-stakes, multi-day government or investment events.
