    Rand Water Requests SAP Technical and Functional Support

    Rand Water has issued a formal Request for Quotation (RFQ 10419003 R, also referenced as RW SCM 00016 F- Rev 11) for the appointment of a suitably qualified service provider to deliver SAP Technical and Functional Support and Maintenance Services. This strategic 12-month contract, executed on a Time and Material basis, is designed to ensure the stability, optimization, and continuous enhancement of Rand Water’s critical SAP ECC 6.0 EHP7 and SAP S/4HANA landscapes.

    Scope of Services

    The appointed service provider will deliver comprehensive support, maintenance, and advisory services across Rand Water’s SAP environment. Key deliverables include:

    • Functional support for SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), Human Capital Management (HCM), and Payroll modules.
    • Technical support encompassing SAP ABAP Development, SAP HANA Database administration, SAP Integration Services, and SAP Workflow Development.
    • Support for integrations between SAP and Enterprise Project Management (EPM), third-party applications, and other Rand Water business systems.
    • Provision of a dedicated SAP PPM Technical Consultant with ABAP and EPM Integration expertise.
    • Delivery of services during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30), with emergency after-hours support available upon prior written approval.

    Mandatory Compliance Requirements

    To be considered responsive, bidders must submit a stringent compliance package demonstrating technical legitimacy and operational readiness. Essential documentation includes:

    • A valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration report reflecting an active MAAA status.
    • A current SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN.
    • A valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
    • A formal letter confirming that the service provider is a recognized and authorized SAP implementation support partner for SAP ECC 6.0 EHP7 and SAP S/4HANA.
    • Fully completed official RFQ forms and functionality returnable schedules.

    Evaluation Criteria

    Proposals will undergo a rigorous two-stage evaluation process. Bidders must first pass the pre-qualification and responsiveness tests, ensuring all mandatory documentation is accurately completed. Qualifying bids will then proceed to a functionality evaluation, assessing the provider’s technical capability, relevant SAP module expertise, and proposed service delivery methodology. Rand Water reserves the right to appoint a maximum of one supplier for this requirement.

    Submission Guidelines

    There will be no briefing session for this procurement. Bidders must adhere to a strict electronic submission protocol: all quotations must be submitted exclusively to the email address kramafal@randwater.co.za. No quotation will be considered if it is not submitted to this specific email address. Physical, faxed, or alternative email submissions will be automatically disqualified.
