The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) has published a Request for Quotation for the appointment of a catering service provider for its Heritage Day Celebration at the Polokwane Office. The tender, designated RFQ2026-008-036, seeks a suitably qualified and compliant service provider to deliver a quality lunch service for a one-day event, in line with the NLC’s mandate to support worthy causes and promote social cohesion .
Tender Overview
The objective is to appoint a catering service provider to deliver lunch services for the NLC’s Heritage Day Celebration and associated education workshop in the Polokwane Office . Bids must be submitted via the E-Tender Portal by 28 August 2026 at 11:00 AM, with email submissions not being considered. The validity period for this RFQ is 60 days from the closing date.
Scope of Work
The engagement covers a single-day event scheduled for 23 September 2026, commencing at 12:00 pm at No 5 Landros Mare Street, Polokwane 0699 . The service provider is responsible for the complete meal preparation, beverage supply, dietary accommodations, delivery, setup, and cleanup.
The menu for 24 delegates requires:
- 3 starches (Rice, Dumpling, and Pap)
- 4 African meat varieties (Mala-Mogodu, Hard Body chicken, Chicken feet, and Lamb Stew)
- 2 vegetables (Beetroot and Spinach/Morogo without cream)
- 2 salads (Chakalaka and Potato Salad)
- 100% fruit juice and fizzy drinks in cans (one drink per person)
- A dedicated vegetarian dish
The provider must bring their own cutlery, plates, tablecloths, cups, and serviettes, and must remove all waste generated after the service. The service provider will report to the NLC for this project .
Key Requirements
Bidders must submit the following documentation:
- Completed and signed Standard Bidding Documents (SBD 1, SBD 4, and SBD 6.1)
- A valid B-BBEE Certificate or Sworn Affidavit in terms of the Codes of Good Practice
- A recent Full CSD Report with SARS Tax Compliance Status
- A POPIA Consent Form (original signed consent form)
- A Certificate of acceptability for food premises from the local municipality within Polokwane Province
Evaluation and Submission
The RFQ will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals (Black Ownership, Women Ownership, Youth Ownership, and Disability Ownership). Bidders may be requested to submit hard copies of certified qualifications, memberships, and COIDA documents within 3 working days if requested. No briefing session is scheduled for this RFQ.
