Scope of Work
The project involves a multi-faceted refurbishment requiring skilled labour and adherence to SANS/SABS standards . The scope includes :
- Removal and disposal of existing floor tiles and wall-to-wall carpets
- Preparation and levelling of the floor substrate, including repairs to settlement joints
- Supply and installation of 500mm x 500mm Belgotex carpet tiles, or equivalent
- Installation of aluminium door strips for single and double doors
- Wall preparation, painting, and re-varnishing of timber doors and frames
- Installation of a 1200mm x 600mm suspended ceiling with a T-grid system
- Supply and installation of LED light fittings, including testing and certification
- Removal and replacement of vertical blinds
Key Requirements
Bidders must be registered with the CIDB with a grading of 2GB or higher . Mandatory returnable documents include a fully completed Bill of Quantities, a valid COIDA letter of good standing, and a minimum of three contactable reference letters for projects completed between 2018 and 2026. A valid electrician’s qualification and wireman’s licence are required for the electrical work .
Evaluation and Submission
The RFQ will follow a two-phase evaluation: first, an elimination phase (including checks for CIDB registration and mandatory documents), followed by a price and preference points evaluation using the 80/20 system.
All quotations must be submitted electronically to tender@csir.co.za in PDF format with a maximum file size of 25MB. The RFQ number and description must be used as the subject line. Work must be completed within 20 working days from the date of the official purchase order.
