The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) has issued a Request for Quotation for catering services for an event in the Eastern Cape. This is a one-day opportunity for catering companies with a valid Food Premises Certificate.
Tender Overview and Key Dates
The RFQ, numbered RFQ074 AM (26/27), was published on 10 July 2026, with quotations closing on 17 July 2026 at 11:00. Responses must be emailed to Quotations1@dffe.gov.za with the RFQ number in the subject line. Enquiries should be directed to SITHOLE S at 012-399-0001 or sisithole@dffe.gov.za.
Scope of Work
The appointed service provider will cater for an event on 21 July 2026 at Nqadu Great Place, Willovale, Mbashe Local Municipality. The service includes:
- Mid-morning tea and coffee for 50 people
- Warm lunch for 200 people (two starches, two meats, two veggies, two salads)
- 100% assorted canned juices for 50 people
- Assorted soft drinks for 200 people
- 500ml still bottled water for 200 people
- One-day rental of 9 trestle tables with white stretch covers
Mandatory Requirement
Bidders must submit a valid Food Premises Certificate issued by the municipality in the name of the company bidding. Failure to submit this certificate will result in automatic disqualification.
Evaluation Criteria
The 80/20 preference point system applies, with price scored out of 80 points and specific goals scored out of 20 points. A maximum of 20 points will be awarded to suppliers with more than 50% ownership by Black people, Women, or people with disabilities.

Submission Requirements
Suppliers must submit a formal quotation on official company letterhead including VAT per item, CSD (MAAA) number, and accurate banking details. Completed and signed SBD 4 and SBD 6.1 forms must accompany the quotation. All prices must be valid for 90 days from the closing date.
