Great North Transport (SOC) Ltd has issued an open tender (GNT/DIESEL/06/2026-2028) for the supply and delivery of diesel. This strategic multi-year contract aims to fuel the provincial public transport fleet across Limpopo, ensuring uninterrupted mobility for thousands of daily commuters.
Scope of Work
Diesel Quality Requirements (Standard Grade – 50 ppm):
- Sulphur Content: 0.05% (50 ppm) max
- Cetane Rating: 45 min
- Density at 20°C: 0.822 kg/l min
- Must comply with all relevant Regulations and include test tools for water contamination verification
Depots and Average Monthly Consumption:
- Seshego (100,000L), Makhado (45,000L), Motetema (30,000L), Hoedspruit (60,000L), Bapedi (26,000L), plus Mokopane, Marble Hall, Tzaneen, Giyani, and Phalaborwa

- Minimum three referees with contact details
- Certification of resolution to sign on behalf of company
- Pricing Proposal schedule
Mandatory Compliance and Evaluation
Bidders must demonstrate valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration, tax compliance, and proven experience in supplying fuel to public transport fleets. The evaluation process will heavily weight the bidder’s logistical capacity, storage facilities, and ability to meet strict environmental and safety standards governing hazardous goods.
Compulsory Briefing Session
Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid clarification meeting is strictly enforced. Prospective bidders must attend in person to understand fuel specifications, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations.
