Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) has issued a Request for Proposal (TPT/2026/06/0551/6294/RFP) for the provision of industrial cleaning services at the Cape Town Terminals. This strategic 36-month fixed-cost contract targets specialized cleaning providers to maintain critical logistics infrastructure, including workshops, substations, and heavy port equipment.
Scope of Works and Site Conditions
The mandate covers the Cape Town Container Terminal (CTCT) and the Multi-Purpose Terminal (CTMPT). The scope requires the cleaning of heavy machinery such as Reach Stackers, Straddles, Forklifts, and Empty Stackers. Bidders must account for the severe corrosive atmosphere characterized by heavy saline, dust-laden air, and fumes.
Security and Safety Compliance
Operating within a security-regulated port environment requires strict adherence to the ISPS Maritime Security Regulations of 2004. All deployed personnel must undergo daily safety inductions and utilize mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety boots, and overalls. Random breathalyzer testing is strictly enforced on-site.
