The Presidency has issued an open tender (PO 2026/27:012) for the appointment of a panel of service providers to render catering services at its Cape Town offices, including the historic Tuynhuys building. This prestigious three-year contract targets highly experienced hospitality firms capable of delivering VIP, VVIP, and corporate catering to the highest standards of excellence and security.
Scope of Work and Venue
The appointed panel will provide comprehensive catering services for meetings, events, and functions at Tuynhuys and other designated locations within Cape Town. The scope includes daily staff meals for approximately 200 to 250 personnel, alongside specialized takeaway packaging and professional presentation for high-level diplomatic and government delegates.
Mandatory Experience and HACCP Standards
Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience in VIP/VVIP or corporate catering for government, corporate, or diplomatic clients. Furthermore, all food preparation and service must strictly adhere to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards to ensure uncompromising food safety and quality.
Mandatory Requirements
Bidders must meet strict compliance criteria to be considered. Mandatory documentation includes:
- Completed and signed SBD 1
- Certificate of Acceptability (R368) for food premises from the municipality
- Valid Halaal certificate or certification for sub-contracted service providers
- Certified copies of ID documents for owners and employees to be assigned to the project
- ISO/SANS 9001:2015 certificate for Quality Management Systems
- SANS 10330:2007 certificate for HACCP System requirements
- SANS 10133 certificate for pesticide application in food establishments
