The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) has issued Request for Quotation CHIETA-012-OF-2026/2027-012 for comprehensive renovations to its Head Office in Waterfall City, Midrand. This procurement targets experienced commercial renovation contractors capable of delivering modern, functional executive workspace enhancements.
Project Overview and Scope
The renovation project encompasses three key areas:
- CEO Office: Extension with internal seating, kitchen relocation, boardroom repositioning, and controlled-access entrance
- Executive Managers: Reconfiguration of five lockable offices, common entrance, dedicated kitchen/waiting area, and printer station
- Support Spaces: Certification Office expansion, four new offices/meeting rooms, and Marketing & Communications storeroom
Mandatory Compliance Requirements
Bidders must submit the following documentation to avoid disqualification:
- Valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration with MAAA number
- Completed and signed SBD1, SBD4, and SBD7.2 forms
- Pricing schedule aligned with the defined scope of work
- Tax Compliance Status PIN or CSD verification
Technical Assessment Criteria
Qualified bidders must demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial office renovations
- At least three similar projects completed within the past 36 months
- Contactable client references with performance feedback
- Detailed project methodology covering safety, quality, risk, and communication plans
- Valid CIDB grading, COIDA registration, and B-BBEE certification
Evaluation and Preference System
Proposals advancing through compliance and technical gates will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system:
- 80 points allocated for price competitiveness
- 20 points for specific goals including B-BBEE status, black ownership, women ownership, youth participation, and local enterprise development
Submission Guidelines and Deadlines
Quotations must be emailed to Procurement@chieta.org.za by 11:00 on Wednesday, 25 March 2026. Late submissions will not be considered. Attendance at the compulsory briefing session is mandatory for all prospective bidders.
