Masilonyana Local Municipality has published Request for Quotation Air-Conditioning Units – 2026/03/001 for the supply, delivery and installation of two air-conditioning units at Theunissen. This RFQ requires bidders to provide 12000 BTU split units with comprehensive warranty coverage.
Tender Overview and Requirements
The tender, published on 12 March 2026, invites bidders to submit quotations for two wall-mounted split air-conditioning units. Closing date for submissions is 27 March 2026 at 12:00. The successful bidder must hold CIDB grading of 1ME or higher and be registered on the Central Supplier Database.
Technical Specifications for Units
Each unit must meet the following specifications:
- 12000 BTU cooling capacity with WiFi connectivity
- Coverage of 16m² with rapid heating and cooling functions
- Energy efficient operation with up to 40% electricity savings
- Eco-friendly R410A refrigerant gas
- Self-cleaning function, sleep mode, and timer features
- Super-quiet motor operation and auto restart function
Warranty and Installation Requirements
Units must carry a 2-year comprehensive warranty and 5-year compressor warranty, subject to annual servicing and installation by an accredited installer. Installation scope includes mounting indoor and outdoor units, electrical connection, refrigerant piping, drainage piping, and full commissioning.
Submission and Evaluation Process
Quotations must be emailed to smatobako@masilonyana.co.za and kmohlokoane@masilonyana.co.za by the closing date. The 80/20 preference point system applies, with evaluation based on price and specific goals as per MBD 6.1. Quotations remain valid for 30 days.
Mandatory Returnable Documents
Bidders must submit:
- CSD registration report or MAAA number
- Fully completed and signed MBD4
- Completed MBD 6.1 form
Failure to submit any document will result in disqualification.
