The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) invites qualified service providers to submit quotations for tillage services at Damplaats, Marobala Village, Capricorn District, Limpopo under re-advert reference ISC01REQ002958. This Request for Quotation seeks experienced contractors to deliver essential agricultural mechanisation support on one hectare of land, supporting research and community development initiatives in rural Limpopo.
Service Schedule and Operational Requirements
Appointed providers must execute two critical farming activities within strict timelines:
- Ploughing and discing: 19 March 2026 using tractor-drawn mouldboard plough and disc harrow
- Planting dry beans and cowpeas: 20 March 2026 using tractor-drawn planter with crop-specific seed plates
All operations must cover the full one-hectare area with precision and adherence to agronomic best practices.
Mandatory Equipment and Compliance Standards
Bidders must demonstrate readiness through documented proof:
- Planter MUST be fitted with dry bean/cowpea seed plates – non-negotiable requirement
- All implements (tractor, mouldboard plough, disc harrow, planter) must be in good working condition without visible rust
- Suppliers must submit clear photographs of all equipment alongside their quotation
- Failure to meet any mandatory requirement results in automatic disqualification
Eligibility Criteria and Preference Point Allocation
Responsive quotations will be evaluated using the 80/20 preference point system. Price accounts for 80 points; specific goals contribute 20 points:
- 6 points for 51%+ ownership by Historically Disadvantaged Individuals
- 4 points each for 51%+ ownership by women or youth
- 2 points for 51%+ ownership by persons with disabilities
- 2 points for B-BBEE Status Level 1-4
- 2 points for promotion of SMMEs
Proof of ownership, B-BBEE certificates, and CSD registration must accompany submissions.

Quotations close Monday, 16 March 2026, at 12:00. Submit electronically to mtungwaf@arc.agric.za with subject line referencing ISC01REQ002958. Mandatory documentation includes:
- Fully completed and signed Standard Bidding Documents (SBDs)
- Valid SARS tax compliance PIN
- Valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
- Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration report
- Banking confirmation letter
