    TIKZN Seeks Catering Services for Supplier Workshop

    Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ202627/55) for the supply and delivery of catering services for an upcoming Supplier Development Workshop. This strategic procurement initiative aims to provide high-quality, health-conscious meals and refreshments in a professional and hospitable environment, supporting TIKZN’s mandate to strengthen local suppliers through focused engagement and capacity-building.

    Scope of Services

    The appointed service provider will be responsible for executing a seamless catering operation for the workshop. Key deliverables include:

    • Provision of lunch and refreshments for 60 attendees on Monday, 16 November 2026, with lunch to be delivered precisely at 12:00.
    • Execution of a specified menu, including savory rice, lamb curry, roast chicken, roast vegetables, vegetarian biryani, green salad, and bread rolls.
    • Supply of 300ml soft drinks and fruit juices, with a mandatory inclusion of sugar-free beverage options.
    • Provision of all necessary crockery and utensils, including plates, glasses, cutlery, serving dishes, and serving spoons, as TIKZN will not supply these items.

    Mandatory Compliance Requirements

    To be considered responsive, bidders must submit a complete and compliant quotation package. Essential submissions include:

    • A formal quotation presented on the company’s official letterhead.
    • A fully completed and signed Standard Bidding Document 1 (SBD 1: Invitation to Bid).
    • A fully completed and signed Standard Bidding Document 4 (SBD 4: Declaration of Interest).
    • Confirmation that the quotation remains valid and open for acceptance by TIKZN for a period of 90 days from the RFQ closing date.

    Evaluation Criteria

    Quotations will be evaluated based on strict administrative compliance and responsiveness to the specified service requirements. TIKZN will assess the completeness of the submitted documentation, the bidder’s ability to meet the exact menu and logistical specifications, and the overall competitiveness of the proposed pricing. Late, incomplete, or non-compliant submissions will be invalidated and rejected.

    Submission Guidelines

    There will be no briefing session or site inspection for this procurement. In accordance with TIKZN’s submission protocols, all RFQ responses and supporting documentation must be submitted exclusively via email. Bidders must email their complete proposals to quotations@tikzn.co.za. The email subject line must clearly state the RFQ number (RFQ202627/55) to ensure proper routing. The strict closing time is 12:00 on Thursday, 29 October 2026. Faxed, physically delivered, or late documents will not be accepted under any circumstances.
