Freedom Park Trust invites proposals for the organisation, commercialisation, and management of the Freedom Park Mountain Bike Challenge®. This initiative aims to establish a flagship annual sporting event that promotes heritage, tourism, and economic development over a 36-month contract period.

Project Objectives
The successful bidder will help Freedom Park position itself as a premier destination for sport, heritage, and tourism. Key objectives include:
- Raising Freedom Park’s national and international profile
- Attracting participants and spectators
- Generating sustainable revenue through sponsorships and ticket sales
- Establishing a globally recognised mountain biking event
- Securing broadcasting and commercial partnerships
Scope of Work
The service provider will be responsible for:
- Event conceptualisation and competition structure
- Securing sponsorship and broadcast partnerships
- Marketing, communications, and digital campaigns
- Participant recruitment and stakeholder liaison
- Full event operations including route planning, safety, and medical services
- Spectator and vendor management
Compulsory Briefing
A compulsory briefing session and site inspection will be held at //hapo Restaurant on 8 September 2026 at 10:00. Bidders are encouraged to send personnel with suitable experience. Due to the terrain, bidders should use suitable vehicles.
Two-Phase Evaluation
- Phase One (Functionality): Minimum 75 out of 100 points required to proceed. Criteria include:
- Relevant Experience and Track Record (15 points)
- Sponsorship Commitments – Monetary (15) and In-Kind (10)
- Broadcasting Partnership Commitments (15)
- Mountain Biking and Sporting Sector Networks (10)
- Company Profile and Organisational Capability (10)
- Project Execution Plan and Methodology (15)
- Key Personnel and Experience (10)
- Phase Two: Commercial and Preferential Procurement evaluation.
Intellectual Property
The Freedom Park Mountain Bike Challenge® and all associated intellectual property shall remain the exclusive property of Freedom Park. The service provider is prohibited from transferring or commercially exploiting the event without prior written approval.
Submission Details
Bids must be deposited in the tender box at Freedom Park Administration Building. Freedom Park does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any bid.
