The Mpumalanga Department of Health has re-advertised an open tender (HEAL/277/26/MP) for the supply and delivery of cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment. This strategic three-year, “as and when required” contract ensures that provincial healthcare facilities maintain stringent hygiene standards, directly supporting quality patient care and infection control across the province.
Scope of Supply and Contract Duration
The appointed service provider(s) will supply specialized cleaning chemicals and equipment to various health facilities. Bidders must adhere to strict national standards, including:
- The Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act
- SANS 10229-1 for the transport of dangerous goods
- Proper chemical composition, container safety, and labeling
Mandatory Functionality and Fleet Requirements
To qualify, bidders must demonstrate relevant experience and logistical capacity. Functionality points are awarded for track records ranging from one to over five years. Additionally, bidders must prove access to a dedicated fleet, with points allocated for possessing multiple Light Delivery Vehicles (LDVs) and 4-ton trucks to guarantee timely provincial distribution.
Evaluation and Specific Goals
Proposals will be evaluated using an 80/20 preference point system. Twenty points are allocated for specific transformation goals, rewarding enterprises based on:
- Locality within Mpumalanga
- Women, youth, and disability ownership

Submission Locations and Guidelines
Sealed bids must be deposited in designated tender boxes across the province, including the Riverside Government Complex in Mbombela, as well as drop-off points in Piet Retief, KwaMhlanga, Secunda, Bushbuckridge, and Middelburg. Bidders must price all items on the schedule.
