The Ekurhuleni Housing Company (EHC) has issued Request for Quotation No. EHCCJT/03/2026 for the supply of carpentry and joinery trade services across its managed housing complexes in Germiston and surrounding areas. The objective is to ensure timely, quality repairs, maintenance, and installations to support affordable rental housing for low-income households in the Ekurhuleni Metropolis.
Scope of Carpentry and Joinery Services
The appointed service provider will deliver:
- General carpentry repairs and maintenance (e.g., doors, windows, frames, cupboards)
- Joinery installations including kitchen units, built-in wardrobes, and shelving
- On-site measurements, fabrication, fitting, and finishing
- Compliance with EHC’s quality standards and safety protocols
- Work across multiple EHC complexes, as directed per work order
Eligibility and Mandatory Requirements
Bidders must:
- Be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Hold a valid tax compliance PIN or SARS Tax Clearance Certificate
- Provide latest 3 months’ bank statements demonstrating financial capacity
- Submit proof of municipal account status (not in arrears >90 days)
- Include certified ID copies of directors and company registration documents
Submission Process and Deadlines
- Closing date: 31 March 2026 at 11:00
- Submissions must be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope marked “EHCCJT/03/2026 – Carpentry Services”
- Deposit in the red tender box at EHC Head Office, Cnr Victoria Street & Linton Jones Street, Germiston, 1400
- Late, emailed, faxed, or couriered submissions will not be accepted
Evaluation Criteria and Preference Points
Bids will be assessed in three stages:
- Stage 1: Mandatory compliance (administrative check)
- Stage 2: Functionality (experience, technical capability, references)
- Stage 3: 80/20 pricing and preference points (Black ownership, youth/women empowerment, local presence in Ekurhuleni)
