The Prince Albert Municipality in the Western Cape has issued an open tender (Tender 131/2026) for the appointment of a service provider for the supply and delivery of office furniture and equipment. This strategic three-year contract, operating on an as-and-when-needed basis, aims to ensure the municipality has reliable access to high-quality, compliant office furnishings to support its daily administrative and operational functions.

Scope of Supply

The successful bidder will supply a comprehensive list of office furniture and equipment, including:

  • Waste bins, draughtsman chairs, sofas, executive leather chairs, and boardroom chairs
  • Chair mats, lumbar cushions, and footrests
  • Open-plan cluster desks, flight desks, melamine desks, and storm desks
  • Hinged-door cupboards, office cabinets, boardroom tables, and meeting tables
  • Community hall training tables and heavy-duty steel tables

Bidders must quote on all items in the pricing schedule; failure to do so will render the bid non-responsive. The bidder must also submit a detailed catalogue covering all items.

Mandatory Compliance Requirements

Bidders must submit a complete tender pack, including:

  • Authority to sign a bid (with a certified company resolution where applicable)
  • Valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) Pin or Tax Clearance Certificate

  • Completed MBD 3.1 Pricing Schedule
  • Completed MBD 4 (Declaration of Interest), MBD 6.1 (Preference Points), MBD 8, MBD 9, and MBD 15 (Municipal Services)
  • Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration report
  • Certified B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
  • Municipal accounts or a valid lease agreement
  • Original or certified B-BBEE certificate

Evaluation Criteria

This tender is subject to functionality and quality scoring. Bidders must first meet the minimum functionality threshold to demonstrate company experience, financial capacity, and the ability to meet the technical specifications of the required furniture. Qualifying bids will then be adjudicated using the applicable preferential procurement point system, balancing price competitiveness with specific transformation goals.
