Sol Plaatje Municipality Invites Bids for Traffic Officer Uniforms

The Solplaatje Local Municipality in the Northern Cape has issued an open tender (COM/TR01/2026) for the supply and delivery of traffic officer uniforms. This strategic procurement initiative aims to equip the municipality’s law enforcement and traffic department with high-quality, durable, and professional attire, ensuring officers are properly outfitted to maintain road safety and enforce traffic regulations effectively.

Scope of Supply

The successful bidder will be responsible for sourcing and delivering a comprehensive range of traffic officer uniforms. Key deliverables include:

  • Supply of durable, weather-appropriate uniform garments tailored to the specific measurements and requirements of the municipality.
  • Provision of all necessary accessories, including belts, hats, and insignia as specified in the tender document.
  • Ensuring all materials meet national safety, comfort, and durability standards for law enforcement personnel.
  • Timely delivery of all items to the designated municipal facilities in Kimberley.

Mandatory Compliance Requirements

To be considered responsive, bidders must submit a complete and compliant documentation package. Essential submissions include:

  • A valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration report with an active MAAA status.
  • A current SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN.
  • A valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
  • Fully completed Standard Bidding Documents (SBD forms) as stipulated in the bid document.

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will undergo a rigorous two-stage evaluation process. Bidders must first achieve a minimum functionality threshold to demonstrate operational capacity, relevant industry experience, and a sound methodology. Qualifying bids will then be adjudicated using the 80/20 preferential procurement system, allocating 80 points for price competitiveness and 20 points for specific transformation goals, such as B-BBEE contribution and local enterprise development.

Submission Guidelines

There will be no briefing session for this procurement. Completed bid documents must be placed in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the tender number (COM/TR01/2026) and the description “Supply and Delivery of Traffic Officer Uniform”. Envelopes must be deposited in the designated tender box at the Solplaatje Local Municipality, Abattoir Road, Ashburnham, Kimberley, 8301. The strict closing time is 10:00 on Thursday, 12 November 2026. Late, faxed, or emailed submissions will not be accepted.
