Sakhisizwe Local Municipality Community Hall Chairs Tender

Sakhisizwe Local Municipality invites qualified service providers to bid for the supply and delivery of 600 new community hall chairs. This open tender (SLM/SCM/23/2026/2027) supports the municipality’s community facilities in Cala, Eastern Cape.

Tender Overview and Scope

The appointed service provider will supply and deliver 600 community hall chairs in Birch Beige. The chairs must be made of high-quality heavy-duty plastic material suitable for regular public use, be comfortable and durable, and be stable and secure with no sharp edges. All chairs must be new, unused, and free from defects.

Mandatory Requirements

Bidders must submit the following documents to avoid disqualification:

  • Completed and signed bid document with all MBD forms (MBD 1 to 9)
  • Latest full CSD report (not older than three months)
  • Originally certified ID copies of directors (not older than six months)
  • Valid Tax Compliance Status PIN issued by SARS
  • B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit
  • Municipal billing clearance certificate or statement (not older than three months)
  • Authority to sign bid resolution
  • Fully completed pricing schedule
  • Form of Offer and Acceptance
  • Declaration by Tenderer

Technical Requirements

All chairs must be SABS approved and suitable for regular community use. The municipality requires a sample before delivery. The municipality reserves the right to inspect the chairs upon delivery. Any chairs that are damaged, defective, or do not meet specifications must be replaced by the supplier at no additional cost. All 600 chairs must be of consistent quality and properly packaged for delivery without damage.

Pricing and Preference Points

The 80/20 preference point system applies. Price carries 80 points, while specific goals account for 20 points. Preference points are awarded for black-owned company (6 points), women-owned company (6 points), and locality (8 points). Locality points are awarded for businesses within Sakhisizwe Local Municipality (8 points), Chris Hani District (5 points), Eastern Cape (3 points), or outside the province (1 point).

Submission Details and Deadline

Bids close on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at 12:00. Submissions must be deposited in the bid box at Budget Office, Sakhisizwe Municipal Offices, 15 Maclear Road, Elliot, 5460. Delivery address is Cala Municipal Offices, 5455. Late, faxed, or emailed documents will not be considered. No briefing session will be held.
