Piketberg, Western Cape – Bergrivier Municipality has issued an open tender (TENDER 8/3/56-2026 / MN203-2026) for the supply and delivery of various stock items to its municipal stores from 1 July 2027 until 30 June 2030. This three-year contract aims to ensure a reliable supply of essential goods for municipal operations across multiple categories.
Project Scope and Service Requirements
The successful bidders will supply and deliver stock items across nine sections:
- Section A: Lubricants (anti-freeze, grease, engine oil, hydraulic oil)
- Section B: Concrete, cement, and precast products (cement, building blocks, kerbs)
- Section C: General hardware, fasteners, and consumables
- Section D: Door accessories (padlocks, locksets, hinges)
- Section E: General maintenance consumables (silicone, adhesives, tapes)
- Section F: Paint brushes and rollers
- Section G: Traffic control and road safety equipment (cones, barriers, mirrors)
- Section H: Tools and equipment (brooms, spades, rakes, mops)
- Section I: Brushes and segments (broom segments with wooden core)
Bidders may bid on any or all sections, but must price every item within a section to qualify for that section.
Minimum Requirements and References
Bidders must meet strict minimum requirements or face disqualification:
- Brand names must be indicated on the pricing schedule
- Prices must be firm for the full contract duration
- Three contactable references and three reference letters/performance evaluations for relevant goods supplied within the last 3 years
- Appointment letters and purchase orders will not be accepted as references
- Reference letters prior to 2023 will not be considered

Submission Details
Sealed bids marked with the tender number must be deposited in the tender box at the Municipal Offices, 13 Kerk Street, Piketberg, before 12:00 on Tuesday, 27 October 2026. Faxed, emailed, or late bids will not be accepted. Bids must remain valid for 120 days.

Evaluation Criteria
The 80/20 preference point system applies, with points allocated for price (80), specific participation goals (10), and B-BBEE scorecard (10). The total price for all items per section, VAT inclusive for three years, will be used for evaluation and award. The municipality reserves the right to accept or reject any bid in whole or in part.
