NYDA Seeks Contractor for Office Renovations at uMzimkhulu

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) invites qualified contractors to submit quotations for office renovations at its uMzimkhulu office in KwaZulu-Natal. This Request for Quotation (RFQ2026/019/6225/NYDA) offers a renovation opportunity for CIDB-registered construction companies.

Tender Overview and Scope of Work

The project involves comprehensive renovations at the NYDA uMzimkhulu Office located at Harry Gwala – Esayidi TVET College, Mzimkhulu Campus. The scope includes:

  • Supply and installation of wooden doors with handles and keys
  • Partition and shopfront for the internet area (3.8m x 3m x 6m)
  • Gypsum ceiling installation in reception area (5m x 5m)
  • Painting of new area (600m²)
  • Supply and installation of skating aluminium (100m)
  • Gypsum ceiling boards (120mm x 240mm)
  • Trellidor sliding security burglar (1300mm x 2500mm)
  • T8 fluorescent lights (571mm)
  • Two parking bays (26m x 5m and 16m x 5m)
  • Cleaning and rubble removal

Mandatory CIDB Registration Requirement

Bidders must be registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in the General Building (GB) class of construction works and must hold a valid CIDB Grade 1GB registration. Failure to provide this will result in disqualification.

Required Documentation for Submission

Bidders must submit:

  • SBD 1 (Invitation to Bid)
  • SBD 4 (Bidder’s Disclosure)
  • Completed and signed pricing schedule
  • Proof of good standing with SARS (verified through CSD or SARS eFiling PIN)
  • B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit (to claim specific goals)
  • Completed SBD 6.1 form (Preference Points Claim Form)

Evaluation Process and Preference Points

The evaluation follows a two-stage process:

Stage One: Administrative Compliance – Verification of mandatory documents including tax compliance and CIDB registration.

Stage Two: Price and Specific Goals – Evaluation on the 80/20 preference point system with 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals including youth-owned institutions, women-owned institutions, and ownership by persons with disabilities.

Briefing Session and Site Location

A non-compulsory briefing session will be held on Tuesday, 29 September 2026 from 11:00 to 12:00 at Harry Gwala – Esayidi TVET College, Mzimkhulu Campus, Mzimkhulu.

On completion, the successful contractor must provide an Electrical COC, OHS certificate, and Glazing certificate.
